Chipton-Ross is seeking multiple Drafter 3's for a contract opportunity in Northridge, CA.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Drafts and revises detailed part, assembly, and installation engineering drawings from basic layouts, established references, and standard data in the field of mechanical engineering. Utilizes computer-aided design software such as, PTC/CREO, Autodesk AutoCad, and Siemens NX. Incorporates redlines and revises drawings utilizing standard engineering drafting practices and PLM. Determines scaling; inserts necessary reference planes, centering and dimension lines, hidden line interpolations, and sectioning; prepares specifications for parts, assemblies, and installations; prepares complete production detail drawings; contributes design modifications to improve quality of product or facilitate manufacturing operations.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
o High School diploma or equivalent and 6 years of related experience. Will accept a bachelors or higher degree plus at least 2 years of related experience.
o Previous work history with mechanical drafting in the Defense Industry
o Experience using: ASME Y14.5 (GD&T), PTC/CREO, Siemens Teamcenter
PREFERRED:
o Experience with envelope drawings as it pertains to CCA design and development.
o Familiarity with electro-mechanical components and integration within systems. (motors, sensors, actuators, etc…)
o Experience with cable/harness drawings
o Experience with Model Based Definition (MBD) and Product Manufacturing Information (PMI)
o Experience with detailed tolerance analyses
o Self-Starter familiar with dynamic work environments.
o Experience with additive manufacturing (3D Printing, Rapid Prototyping, etc...).
o Experience with Machining (Mill, Lathe, Router, etc...)
EDUCATION:
High school diploma is required.
School must be accredited.
HOURS:
9/80 workweek.
Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
