Chipton-Ross is seeking a Machine Maintenance Technician for a contract opportunity in Lansing, MI.
JOB SUMMARY:
o Repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment such as motors, pneumatic tools, robots, conveyor systems, production machines and other equipment
o Troubleshoot electrical systems including, but not limited to three-phase motors, start/stop circuits, AC/DC drives, running electrical conduit, and read electrical prints.
o Perform equipment installation, PMs, and complete assigned projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Maintaining & supporting all equipment in JIT Production Environment and other areas as required.
o Complete all tasks, work orders, & PM's as directed by supervisor in a safe & timely manner.
o Make approved modifications to machinery and equipment to meet production needs.
o Perform repairs, rebuild & trouble shoot equipment to ensure production efficiencies are met.
o Daily record all line calls, work orders, PM's & work history electronically in eMaintenance System.
o Complete all required and applicable training required by the client.
o Must be willing to work overtime as needed (daily, weekly, shutdowns etc.)
o Must be willing to work any shift on short, but reasonable notice.
o Must continuously improve and develop skills/knowledge.
o Complete all other tasks as requested by the Engineering Manager and/or Maintenance Supervisor
o Authority and responsibility to stop the production line should a safety or quality issue appear.
o Maintain license to operate a Hilo, Scissor Lift and Articulating Lift
o Excellent attendance and steady work history
REQUIREMENTS:
o Journeyman's Card -OR - 3-5 yrs of experience of maintenance experience in a manufacturing plant. Experience in industrial automotive preferred.
o Ideal candidate must be able to work 8-10 hr shifts, on feet most of the time and be capable of diagnosing, repair and install equipment in a fast paced environment. Must be able to lift 30lb unassisted. Be an expert with using hand tools. Strong experience with motors, chains and sprockets required.

EDUCATION:

Education must be accredited.
WORK HOURS:
2:00 PM -10:00 PM (straight 8 hr day), M-F with some Saturdays.
Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
