Chipton-Ross is seeking 10 Sheet Metal Mechanics Level 4S for a contract opportunity in Stuart, FL.
SUMMARY:
Specialist Sheet Metal Mechanic is responsible to maintain, modify and integrate components into major assemblies. You will be involved in activities like assembly, installation, and repairing of sheet metal, composite and products.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain, modify, and install the various components of aircraft sheet metal and composite assemblies and structures.
Install and fabricate complex aircraft structural assemblies.
Ability to perform any level of rework with little or no supervision, and the ability to train others on re-work methods.
Extensive knowledge and proficiency of precision measuring devices. i.e., micrometer, ball gauges, dial calipers, scales and all other calibrated devices. Has the ability to train others?
Maintain documented records of work accomplished.
Works from and to engineering drawings, blueprints, manufacturing specifications and procedures. Has the ability to train others.
Adheres to quality procedures and instructions both written and verbal.
Notifies supervision of all malfunctions, defects and damages of material, equipment and/or product.
Expected to keep all areas clean, neat, and orderly. Train others on 6S
Preform visual and functional inspection of operations to ensure product meets all requirements and specifications. Has the ability to train others.
Assist in development of co-workers, by coaching and mentoring other mechanics.
Assure final quality acceptance of installation and configuration of all components, i.e., rivets, fasteners, holes, sealant, torque, and all other components that are applicable.
Ability to perform mechanical functions in any or all of the following examples: precision drilling, close tolerance holes, reaming, countersinking, cold working of metal, installation of rivets and fasteners.
Adhere to all company policies and safety programs.
Supports and attends and may host Continuous Improvement activities.
May be required to assign job tasks and follow up for completion.
May be required to perform any and all other related job duties as assigned.
Candidates must have the "change agent" mentality and be able to demonstrate it.
REQUIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to read and speak English proficiently required in order to perform the job.
7 years of experience in aircraft sheet metal structural assembly, or a combination of aircraft structural assembly and MRO Repair experience.
Demonstrated abilities to use MES / MEDS, pull up, interpret, and work from drawings and specs.
Meets all physical requirements.
EDUCATION:
Accredited High School Diploma or GED
WORK HOURS:
Full-Time 5/40, must be able to work 1st or 2nd shift including OT and possible weekends.
Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
