- Chipton-Ross is seeking an EHS Specialist for a contract opportunity in Hillsboro, OR.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Promote a preventive safety culture by implementing programs and strategies to prevent injuries. Conduct Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and build preventive action plans to ensure that employees have adequate protection for workplace hazards.
o Conduct investigations and identify prevention methods for reported hazards, accidents, and near-miss incidents.
o Lead the Employee Safety Training Program, including developing and delivering training curriculum and selecting and evaluating outside consultants/trainers.
o Supervise the Safety Committee and Emergency Response Team (ERT) and coordinate site-wide drills to prepare the site for emergencies.
o Manage programs maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and codes, including ISO 14001 and radiation safety programs. Lead Biosafety, Chemical Safety, Ergonomics, and Worker's Compensation Programs. Act as the primary contact to regulatory agencies/government authorities.
o Coordinate applications for wastewater, hazardous waste, stormwater, and regulatory permitting.
o Lead audits and manage root causes and corrective actions (RCCM).
o Maintain and report safety metrics to leadership and conduct trend analyses to identify continuous improvement opportunities.
o Support and update safety aspects of the Hillsboro Business Continuity Plan.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
o 4-6 years' experience as an EHS Manager in a large company with a history of leading and implementing site-wide programs.
o EHS regulatory compliance experience and strong organizational skills to lead initiatives, drive projects, host successful audits, maintain government and ISO certifications.
o Strong leadership skills and experience in collaborating with colleagues to foster continuous improvement. Must be able to effectively manage daily responsibilities while achieving long-term goals.
o Experience with ISO 14001 environmental management systems, auditing, and inspections.
o In-depth knowledge of federal and local EHS regulations and requirements (i.e., Oregon OSHA, EPA, ISO 14001) and experience with interpreting and aligning requirements to site-specific programs.
o Proficiency with computer applications, including MS Office 365, is required.
EDUCATION:
Accredited bachelor's degree in Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field is required. Equivalent experience will also be considered. Candidates with experience in a manufacturing environment will be given preference. A master's degree is an added advantage.
WORK HOURS:
Full-Time; 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM M-F, OT possible.
Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
