Chipton-Ross is seeking a Senior MySQL Database Architect for a remote contract opportunity.

JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing database solutions for an ECG data management product. This role encompasses maintaining, optimizing, and securing databases, implementing backup/recovery strategies, monitoring performance, troubleshooting issues, ensuring compliance with standards, collaborating on engineering solutions and maintaining documentation. Expert level skills in Database architecture and design are required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Design and implement database solutions to meet business requirements, including data modeling and schema design
o Optimize database performance by analyzing query execution plans, indexing strategies, and resource allocation
o Develop and implement database backup and recovery strategies to ensure data availability and integrity
o Monitor database health and performance, proactively identifying and addressing issues
o Troubleshoot and resolve database-related incidents and performance problems
o Ensure data security and compliance with relevant regulations by implementing access controls, encryption, and auditing
o Collaborate with software developers to design and implement efficient and scalable database schemas
o Document database configurations, procedures, and best practices
o Experience with Data Profiling (BI and Analytics)
o Stay up-to-date with emerging database technologies and industry trends to make informed recommendations for improvements

REQUIREMENTS:
o At least 5+ years of professional experience as a database architect.
o Advanced knowledge of database management systems (DBMS) such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, etc.
o Prior experience with MySQL database is highly desired.
o Advanced knowledge of query languages like SQL for relational databases and appropriate query languages for NoSQL databases
o Advanced knowledge of backup and recovery strategies
o Expert skills in database design, modeling, query and optimization
o Expert skills in database performance tuning and optimization techniques
o Good problem-solving and analytical skills
o Good communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders

EDUCATION:
Accredited High School diploma required

WORK HOURS:
Full-Time First Shift

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
