Chipton-Ross is seeking a Special Inspector for a direct hire opportunity in Louisville, KY.

JOB SUMMARY:
As a Special Inspector, you will collaborate with team members and Project Managers, ensuring compliance with safety standards and contractual commitments. You'll conduct thorough on-site inspections and tests in soil, rock, and foundation engineering, communicate findings, monitor material quality, troubleshoot challenges, stay updated on industry advancements, and uphold ethical standards and professional integrity while prioritizing safety protocols throughout the inspection process.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
- Great verbal and written communication - will be interfacing with contractors, clients, and management.
- Self-motivated to manage a project and series of tasks.
- Interest in applying skills and experience to give back to the local community as opportunities arise.
- Valid Driver's license and reliable transportation. Mileage will be reimbursed.
- Strong people and communication skills.
- Self-motivated with ability to lead in a team environment.
- Problem-solving skills. Ability to work in high-stress conditions and quickly changing environments
- Multi-tasking ability: prioritizing, organizing, and scheduling.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with other field representatives or Project Managers.
- Be willing to learn and expand inspection knowledge in multiple disciplines of engineering and special inspections to ensure construction is in accordance with design documents, specifications, and approved shop drawings.
- Adhere to all safety standards and contractual commitments.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Conduct on-site inspections and tests for soil, rock, and foundation engineering, maintaining accurate documentation of activities and results.
- Ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and industry standards, identifying and assessing geotechnical risks and hazards.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders, monitoring material quality and adherence to specifications.
- Assist in site investigations and geotechnical surveys, troubleshooting challenges and proposing solutions.
- Stay updated on industry advancements and regulatory requirements, preparing compliance reports and documentation while upholding ethical standards and professional integrity, and prioritizing safety protocols and procedures during inspections.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Accredited high school diploma required

WORK HOURS:
Full-Time - First Shift
