Chipton-Ross is seeking a Mid-Level Software Engineer for a contract opportunity in Waco, TX.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
Skills, Knowledge and Conditions
Excellent computer skills with strong proficiency in Windows interface, Microsoft Office package (Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Access), Microsoft Project and software.
Understanding of Government contracting requirements, such as FAR, ITAR, etc., and demonstrated knowledge of business challenges and opportunities driven by technology and regulations unique to the Defense market.
Exceptional interpersonal, and decision making skills.
Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
Must be able to exhibit a positive attitude and communicate clearly and effectively, and, most importantly, promote collaboration among the team.
Must be available to travel if necessary.
Must be able to obtain a security clearance, if required.
Education/Experience/Licenses etc.:
(indicate preferred or required) Education and Experience.
BA/BS with a minimum of 3-5 of years' experience planning in a visual electromechanical build-to-order manufacturing environment.
Minimum 5 -7 years' experience in an MRP Manufacturing environment as a senior level production planner, scheduler or materials analyst.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design and implement new software features and frameworks, delivering high-quality solutions on time and within budget.
Analyze and improve the efficiency, scalability, and stability of various system resources.
Engage with other team members in the planning of project timelines, implementation of design specifications, and system performance improvements.
Conduct code reviews, write unit tests, and document software implementations to ensure development quality.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new features and functionality.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues in existing software applications, enhancing user experience and system performance.
Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and demos.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technology standards, industry trends, and emerging technologies.
Solid understanding of software development principles and design patterns.
Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, C#, C++, Python, or similar.
Familiarity with the full software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
IBM Cognos Business Intelligence experience a plus.
CPM or APICS certification a Plus.
Knowledge of Windows and UNIX based platforms (CENTOS/ROCKY/RHEL 8)
Expert at JavaFX/Java 11 or greater
Familiarity with software patterns and modern design methodology (UML)
Knowledge of Git or Bitbucket, and JIRA
Understanding of cybersecurity principles and secure coding practices (Fortify)
Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub).
Understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
Experience with test-driven development (TDD) and automated testing frameworks.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:
BA/BS with a minimum of 3-5 of years' experience planning in a visual electromechanical build-to-order manufacturing environment.

Full-Time 9/80
