Chipton-Ross is seeking a Network Engineer 2 for a contract opportunity in Seal Beach, CA.
100% onsite, must be able to work at one of these locations, Seal Beach, Herdon, VA, Kennedy Space Center.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o Active Top Secret Security Clearance is required for this position.
o Experience with Cisco switching, routing and firewall hardware and common network concepts such as LAN/WAN, perimeter, IPSec, routing/switching, packet filtering, IDS/IPS, authentication, cabling, and troubleshooting
o Experience performing network security implementations or assessments.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Client seeks a Network Engineer to support proprietary programs network operations for OCONUS customers. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining network infrastructure to ensure reliable connectivity and performance for critical systems and applications with varying operating systems and hardware interfaces.
o Design, configure, and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs to support operational requirements.
o Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal functionality and minimal downtime.
o Implement and manage network security measures to protect sensitive data and maintain compliance with security policies.
o Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute network upgrades, migrations, and expansions.
o Conduct regular network assessments and audits to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to best practices.
o Document network configurations, processes, and procedures to maintain accurate records and facilitate knowledge sharing.
o Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend enhancements and innovations to the network infrastructure.
o Participate in on-call support rotation to address network incidents and outages as they arise.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o Familiarity with emerging technologies and industry trends, with the ability to recommend enhancements to network infrastructure.
o Experience conducting network assessments and audits to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to best practices.
o Strong documentation skills for maintaining accurate records of network configurations, processes, and procedures.
o Previous experience in a similar role supporting CONUS customers or proprietary programs.
o Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to plan and execute network upgrades, migrations, and expansions.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g., Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience (e.g., Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
WORK HOURS:
Full-Time/First Shift
6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
ADDITIONAL:
Domestic Travel Required.
International travel required, but highly unlikely.
