Chipton-Ross is seeking multiple Principal Linux/Windows Systems Administrator 2's for a contract opportunity in Linthicum, MD.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o Master's degree with 3 years of experience, or a Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience, or an Associate's Degree with 7 years of experience; a High School Diploma or equivalent with 9 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a completed degree.
o Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II (or higher) certification (example: Security+ CE); maintaining the required certification will be a condition of continued employment.
o Experience managing Red Hat Enterprise Linux OS in a classified environment.
o Experience managing Windows Server OS and domain architecture in a classified environment.
o Familiarity with DoD STIGs, deploying new STIGs, and working with IT and Information Assurance Analysts to develop POA&Ms for vulnerabilities that cannot be mitigated, or STIG settings that cannot be applied.
o Current DoD Secret security clearance (at a minimum), to include a closed investigation date completed within the last 6 years, or must be enrolled in the DoD Continuous Evaluation (CE) Program, in order to be considered; the required security clearance must be maintained as a condition of continued employment.
o Candidates must have the ability to obtain and maintain access to Special Programs within 9 months of their hire date; program and/or customer requirements may expedite this timeline, and maintaining a SAP/SAR clearance will be a condition of continued employment.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
looking for a Principal Linux/Windows Systems Administrator to join its Classified Solutions team in Linthicum, MD. As a member of the classified solutions, IT you'll work in a fast-paced team environment alongside engineers and program managers to help support and make our technologies a reality. This position will serve on-site at our Linthicum, MD campus; this is not a remote work opportunity.
Responsibilities:
o Perform as a Linux/Redhat Systems Administrator for a classified government contract.
o Perform as a Windows Systems Administrator for a classified government contract.
o Maintain smooth operations of all computer infrastructure in a multi-user computer system environment, including coordination of efforts with systems, software, and electrical design engineers, Information Systems Security Officers, PC desktop technicians, end users, network engineers, program/project managers, and IT management.
o Analyze internal and external customer requirements and determine equipment and software requirements for solutions to problems by means of automated systems.
o Recommend and implement system enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the system including installing, upgrading/patching, monitoring, problem resolution, and configuration management.
o Provide backup and recovery services, manage data storage devices, and implement/upgrade/update virus and malware protection on a routine basis.
o Create and maintain user and computer accounts and modify file permissions and security access lists.
o Test new releases of products to ensure compatibility and minimize user impact.
o Develop and document technical processes and procedures as needed.
o Make recommendations to purchase hardware, software, and system components.
o Interact, meet, discuss, and troubleshoot issues with vendors and evaluate vendor products, services, and suggestions.
o Adhere to strict Information Systems security guidelines in all cases.
o Deploy new STIGs & work with IT/IA to develop POA&Ms for vulnerabilities that cannot be mitigated or STIG settings that cannot be applied.
o Understand vulnerability and risk mitigation in accordance with RMF & DoD JSIG standards.
o Maintain security audit and logging information on all classified networked and standalone computers as directed by Information Systems Security Officers (ISSOs) and Information Systems Security Managers (ISSMs).
o Prepare security documentation for input to Computer Security.
o Report project status as required for all recurring and non-recurring efforts.
o Work under minimal direction and independently determine and develop approach to solutions.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o Bachelor's or a Master's degree in Information Technology, a Security+ CE, a Linux+ or RHCSA certification, an MCSE or similar Microsoft certification, and 5+ years of Linux, Windows, and VMWare server administration experience in a JSIG classified environment.
o Experience with Solaris OS.
o Experience operating under and managing systems within NISPOM Chapter 8, DCID 6/3-ICD 503, RMF, STIG, JAFAN, or JSIG information system environments.
o Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining computer hardware in a networked environment.
o Understanding of networking, including subnets, routing, and VLANs; Cisco experience and/or certification.
o Experience with Windows AD, LDAP, VMWare, and knowledge of SAN storage systems.
o Experience with Windows & Linux Operating systems that support Security Engineering tools.
o Knowledge of environmental monitoring tools (HBSS/Solar Winds/Splunk).
o VMWare experience with current version.
o Rudimentary Scripting experience.
o Experience with the creation and deployment of system images in an enterprise environment.
o Experience with Certification & Accreditation process.
o DoD 8570 Certification in a primary OS (Windows, Linux, Cisco).
o Active DoD Top Secret security clearance.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
High school diploma is required.
School must be accredited.
WORK HOURS:
5/40 work week. 100% On-Site. 8 AM - 5 PM. candidate may be asked to work a few hours during the weekend or after hours on rare occasions.
