Chipton-Ross is seeking a Software Engineer (Level 3) for a contract opportunity in Hazelwood, MO.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
• 5+ years of experience in C++(team’s primary language), C or C#
• 3+ years of experience in Window and/or Linux distributions
• 5+ years of experience in Git, Visual Studio or other IDE
• 5+ years of experience in software development/ agile environment
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
This position contributes to the development and sustainment of next-generation training technologies for military pilot training, including advanced visualization systems like MMRS (Multi Mode Radar Simulation) and JHMCS (Joint Helmet Mounted Cueing System). The engineer will participate in full-lifecycle software development including requirements analysis, system and software design, implementation, testing, and integration. The position emphasizes real-time 3D rendering, graphics system integration, and software optimization for pilot training environments. Leads the design, architecture, and development of simulation models, simulation visualizations, virtual environments/platforms and frameworks to enhance test performance, safety, and durability of software and hardware systems throughout the entire product lifecycle. Partners with stakeholders to lead the review and identification of simulation requirements and dynamics of the systems being simulated. Leads the design, modeling, simulation, testing, and analysis to assess and optimize overall system performance and capabilities. Performs data collection and processing for use in simulations. Leads validation, verification, and refinement of simulation software code, models, simulations, test procedures and test environments, executing test procedures, documenting test results and modeling against real-world data, test data, benchmarks, or other similar models. Leads the documentation and maintenance of technical code, algorithms, specifications and descriptions of simulation models. Partners with cross functional engineering teams to lead integration of simulation software with hardware devices and systems. Leads implementing current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks, and methods in the software engineering simulation environment. Leads modernizing, migrating, sustaining, and updating simulation software to adapt legacy systems to new operating systems. Leads simulation software project management functions.
REQUIRED EDUCATION
Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
TRAVEL:
Minor travel is not expected but is possible.
WORK HOURS
FULL TIME/FIRST SHIFT; 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
