Chipton-Ross is seeking an Project Leader for a hybrid contract opportunity in Skaneateles, NY.
This position is hybrid: employees are expected to work onsite Tuesday through Thursday, with the option to work from home Monday and Friday.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
Must have experience leading projects or teams, strong communication skills, and familiarity with modifying materials or product-related changes (as opposed to software or cloud/database changes). Must have conceptual knowledge of a Bill of Materials (BOM). Knowledge of Microsoft Project required. Candidate must be comfortable working in a hybrid environment and collaborating with remote teams. Familiarity with regulatory environments such as medical, pharmaceutical, or defense is highly preferred.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position will manage design changes and documentation updates needed to support product maintenance. The individual will lead cross-functional teams in engineering assignments on a task-by-task basis, and independently plan, execute, and direct engineering projects. Responsibilities include working with BOM structures in SAP or other MRP systems, collaborating with vendors on mold changes and PCBAs, and driving change through formal design control processes. The candidate will also be expected to guide cross-functional teams, provide status updates, and contribute to risk mitigation strategies throughout the project lifecycle.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
Experience leading portions of technical projects, especially involving tangible products. Experience with SAP, Microsoft Project, and Smartsheet is a plus. Background in medical device design or other highly regulated industries is highly desirable. Familiarity with PCBA spins, mold change processes, and matrix-managed teams is preferred.
