Chipton-Ross is seeking multiple Semiconductor Equipment Support Technician 1's for a contract opportunity in Manhattan Beach, CA.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o High school diploma or GED.
o 2+ years of experience in equipment maintenance or technical trade.
o Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read schematics, manuals, and technical drawings.
o Familiarity with vacuum pumps, gas systems, and cleanroom operations.
o Comfortable working independently in a research-driven environment with frequent tool changeovers.
o This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. citizen.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on a broad range of front-end and back-end semiconductor equipment (e.g., steppers, evaporators, sputters, implanters, etchers, coaters/developers, and dicing saws).
o Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, vacuum, pneumatic, and basic software/control issues across legacy and custom tools.
o Partner with process engineers, researchers, and tool owners to rapidly diagnose and resolve equipment problems in a dynamic Production/R&D setting.
o Log maintenance activities, downtime events, and parts usage in internal tracking systems.
o Support tool installations, decommissioning, and upgrades, including coordination with vendors and facilities teams.
o Maintain and order critical spares, consumables, and safety components.
o Follow cleanroom protocols and ensure tools meet safety, cleanliness, and calibration standards.
o Participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance tool uptime, reduce maintenance cycles, and improve user satisfaction.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o Associate degree or technical training in Mechatronics, Electronics, or related field. - Experience with legacy semiconductor tools, including both wet and dry processes.
o Exposure to low-volume, high-mix R&D or prototyping environments.
o Basic understanding of process flows across front-end and back-end semiconductor fabrication.
o Familiarity with safety protocols related to gases, chemicals, and high voltage equipment.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:
High School Diploma/GED is required.
School must be accredited.

WORK HOURS:
3/10 workweek. Weekend 1st Shift (Friday, Saturday, & Sunday).

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
