Chipton-Ross is seeking a Marine Electrician for a contract opportunity in Sturgeon Bay, WI.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
Requires a minimum of three (3) years of electrical experience in the marine electrical field.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the layout, installation and repair of shipboard cables, lighting, and electronic equipment, as well as the ships power. Electricians utilize an assortment of hand and power tools, a variety of test equipment along with a working knowledge of blue prints, drawings and schematics. Ingalls shipyard production areas at times involve working at different heights, confined spaces, different weather conditions as well as multiple shifts. As with most every position in the shipyard, an Electrician may be required to work either day or night dependent upon the number of ships under construction at any one point in time. Ingalls stresses the practice of working safely in all situations with safety procedures meeting, and most times, exceeding industry standards.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
One (1) year shipboard experience (sonar, radar, power, internal communication, navigation, etc.). The ability to read marine blue prints and work from standard and metric specifications, wiring hook up, fiber optics experience.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Accredited High School diploma or equivalent.

WORK HOURS:
7/56, workweek.
1st, 2nd, 3rd shift.



Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
