Description: Chipton-Ross is seeking 5 Fabrication Specialist A's for a contract opportunity in Salt Lake City, UT.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
• 3+ months of experience in Aerospace, Fabrication, or Manufacturing experience
• Ability to work any shift based on the needs of the operation
• Regular and predictable attendance is required

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs machine set-up, machining, welding set-up, welding, sheet metal fabrication and extrusion, tube bending and fabrication tasks. Performs composite lay-up, fabrication and assembly tasks. Assembles precision mechanical and electro-mechanical components. Assembles, repairs, modifies and installs various power plants and drive trains. Perform soldering on electronic and avionics products. Assembles and installs wire harnesses and avionics products. Prepares test articles, fixtures and data collection devices to perform various tests. Performs basic organic chemical conversion and paint preparation. Applies routine organic coatings for corrosion protection and appearance requirements. Works on articles of moderate complexity using established drawings and requirements. Duties may include (but are not limited to):
• Performs metals/Composite assembly tasks, including drilling, fastening, sealing, and electrical bonding
• Assembles mechanical and electro-mechanical components
• Performs basic organic chemical conversion and paint preparation
• Applies routine organic coatings for corrosion protection and appearance requirements
• Performs machine set-up, machining, and metal fabrication tasks
• Works on articles of limited complexity following established drawings and requirements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
• 1+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience with Lean Principles (Continuous Improvement, Standard Work, and 5-S tools)
• Experience managing or working with safety, quality, and manufacturing performance data

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds
• Ability to perform physical activities such as climbing, bending, kneeling and lifting

REQUIRED EDUCATION
Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. high school diploma/GED).

WORK HOURS
FULL TIME/VARIABLE SHIFT; 1st or 2nd shift must be available for both.
: Employment will be contingent on clearing a background check. Must clear prior to start date.
