Chipton-Ross is seeking a Systems Architect Engineer 3 for a contract opportunity in Plymouth, MN.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering plus 12 years of relevant experience;
Or a Master's Degree plus 10 years of relevant experience;
Or PhD with 8 years relevant experience.
o Experience in FPGA design and development using VHDL or Verilog.
o Experience with Simulation tools.
o Experience with setting and managing design constraints to meet critical timing requirements.
o Experience with FPGA design verification using hardware verification and debugging tools.
o Experience in the use of lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
o Experience in creating and managing technical documentation such as architecture and interface control documents.
o Experience in Hardware/Software integration.
o Experience in lead engineering role.
o Possess strong interpersonal skills to work effectively within a development team to understand system level interdependencies that impact circuit requirements and design constraints.
o Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Looking for a Systems Architect Engineer to support our Fuzing and Warheads engineering organization. This position requires applying engineering techniques on developing advanced weapon systems of significant complexity and scope. This position requires experience in applying System Architecture practices to all phases of military programs.
Responsibilities:
o Will be recognized as SME in digital signal processing, FPGA design/implementation, and new technology development.
o Key member of a team with leadership of/responsibility for, and some level of corresponding authority over, programmable logic development within the business unit/division.
o Can lead digital design teams of 3-4 team members of varying skill levels.
o Perform FPGA design, simulation, and documentation using product families such as Xilinx Kintex7, Virtex7, Zynq, Ultrascale, RFSoc and Altera Agilex, Arria 10, and Max 10.
o Is proficient at recognizing the unique design requirements such as safety and reliability architectures associated with military applications.
o Ensuring adherence to coding standards and revision control practices
o Can review and critique designs created by peers and/or junior engineers.
o Define development test plans and methods to ensure a robust design is achieved.
o Define and develop specifications and test procedures.
o Conduct testing of products using high-speed oscilloscopes, signal generators, signal analyzers, Matlab, and FPGA debugging tools.
o Significant involvement in field/on-site testing.
o Compiles and analyzes test data to determine design effects on electrical circuits for military applications.
o Strong analytical skills and the ability organize/prioritize job assignments and tasks.
o Possess strong interpersonal skills to work effectively within a development team to understand system level interdependencies that impact circuit requirements and design constraints.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o Experience in bus protocols such as I2C, SPI, RS-232, JESD204B, CSI/MIPI.
o VHDL is the HDL language of preference.
o Experience with digital implementations of common Digital Signal Processing functions such as: low pass, bandpass, and high pass filters, comb filter and Hilbert transform filter, PLLs.
o Experience with Intel Agilex, Arria 10, and Max 10.
o Experience with Modelsim, Xilinx Vivado, Xilinx Model Composer, Synplicity, MATLAB, Altera Quartus, Altera DSP Builder, Simulink, HDL Coder.
o IP Creation and Integration.
o FPGA Digital Signal Processing implementation.
o Experience with bus functional models.
o Full product life cycle (design, implementation, and test) of FPGA Design.
o Is familiar with unique test requirements associated with military electronics such as extreme temperature testing.
o Preferably an Understanding of Six Sigma disciplines, design for assembly / design for manufacturing (DFA/DFM).
o Active DoD Secret Clearance.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering is required.
School must be accredited.


WORK HOURS:
Full-Time 9/80 workweek. 1st shift.
