Chipton-Ross is seeking multiple MECH TECH H 3 (MACHINIST) - Outside Machinist for a contract opportunity in Charleston, SC.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
High school diploma or equivalent.
Qualified candidates must have five (5) or more years' experience as a machinist, machinist mate, mechanic/automotive repairman, engine man, heavy equipment repairman or similar experience. Machinists take the locating information and applied mathematics tests."
Candidates must possess the ability to read and interpret measurements using precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers. Candidates must able to work at extreme heights or small confined spaces. Must be able to kneel, squat, crawl, bend, stoop, and climb. Must be able to lift 40 lbs. and must take and pass a respirator fit test. Must be able to work indoors/outdoors year-round in all weather conditions. Must be able to work assigned shift as production needs. Must be able to pass Physical.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sets up and operates a variety of machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, planers, and precision grinders to make metal parts, mechanisms, tools, or machines to exacting tolerances and dimensions. interprets blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications; determines sequence of operations, number of cuts required, and method of setup; uses a variety of machinist's hand tools and precision measuring instruments; makes standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, feeds, and speeds; measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points to lay out stock for machining; fits and assembles precision parts into mechanical equipment and determines material, parts, and equipment required. May modify numerically controlled programs on numerically controlled (nc) machines. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. Typically requires completion of a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:
High School Diploma.
School must be accredited.

WORK HOURS:
Full-Time 4/10 workweek. 1st shift. Monday-Thursday. 6 AM - 4:30 PM.

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
