Chipton-Ross is seeking 6 Fabrication Specialists (Level B) for a contract opportunity in Orangeburg, SC.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o Experience in drilling sheet metal, composite and titanium. (5 years)
o Must be available for any shift.
o If hired, successful completion of training is a contingency for this assignment.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs machine set-up, machining, sheet metal fabrication and extrusion, tube bending and fabrication tasks. Performs composite lay-up, fabrication and assembly tasks. Assembles precision mechanical and electro-mechanical components. Assembles, repairs, modifies and installs various power plants and drive trains. Prepares test articles, fixtures and data collection devices to perform various tests. Performs basic organic chemical conversion and paint preparation. Applies routine organic coatings for corrosion protection and appearance requirements. Works on articles of limited complexity following established drawings and requirements. Duties may include (but are not limited to):
o Performs composite related fabrication of detail parts and subassemblies from carbon fiber, fiberglass and other
lightweight materials commonly use in the aerospace industry.
o Performs automated lay-up machine set-up and operation.
oPerforms composite lay-up, fabrication and assembly tasks.
o Ability to understand the use and fabrication of pre-manufactured composite materials using, blueprints, engineering
drawings and planning from nonconformance dispositions.
o Accomplishes these processes by using fabrication tooling materials and automated / motorized equipment.
o Accomplishes related functions to provide complete fabrication details and subassemblies via hand-lay-up methods or
through the use of NC equipment.
o Ability to select correct parts, materials, tools, assemblies, standards, hardware, etc., in order to accomplish work
statement in accordance with planned operations.
o Report job constraints such as: errors caused by workmanship, defects in parts, materials, assembly procedures, tools,
sequences, etc., in accordance with client procedures.
o Prepares test articles, fixtures and data collection devices to perform various tests.
o Performs basic organic chemical conversion and paint preparation.
o Applies routine organic coatings for corrosion protection and appearance requirements.
o Works on articles of moderate complexity using established drawings and requirements.
o Be safety conscious; employ the use of safety glasses, safety harnesses, respirators, boot socks, and other pertinent
safety equipment 100% of the time.
o Exhibit exemplary housekeeping and Foreign Object Debris (FOD) standards.
o Maintain clean, neat, organized and FOD free work area.
o Coordinate pertinent information with employees on other shifts.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
1. Ability to meet physical demands of the role such as: flexion/extension (head bent down, head bent back), handling, kneeling, bending at the waist, reaching (overhead), rotation of head/neck, standing, twisting at the waist and walking, climbing/balancing (stairs, ladders, poles, scaffolding, inclined surfaces), crawling, crouching (squatting).

REQUIRED EDUCATION:
High school diploma or GED and typically 1 or more years' related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Education must be accredited.
WORK HOURS
FULL TIME/VARIABLE SHIFT; Must be available for any shift.Shift based on business needs.
