Chipton-Ross is seeking 9 C-17 Product Repair/Modifications Technicians for a contract opportunity at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
- Minimum of 3 years' experience working from heights & using fall protection equipment.
- 3+ years' experience having the ability to read, understand, and interpret basic engineering drawings and technical specifications
- 3+ years' experience in detecting hazardous working conditions and safety problems via a regular check of equipment and work area
- 3+ years' experience in repair, maintenance, and retrofit processes and practices
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assemble, disassemble and/or modify systems by changing, removing, replacing or upgrading aerospace vehicle components to correct failures or implement changes
- Oversees assembly, disassembly or overhaul
- Configures aerospace vehicles and bench test equipment
- Troubleshoots complex pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems to isolate mechanical or electrical faults and repair faulty components
- Performs validation/verification testing of systems and components
- Documents procedures and established processes to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance (e.g., repairs, test results, applicable modifications and inspection results)
- Inspects components and verifies repairs for flight worthiness requirements.
- Oversees training
- Works under general direction
- Must be able to pass Ground Operations Personnel (GOP) and air respirator medical physicals and maintain qualification/certification
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- Prefer knowledge of live aircraft operations, environment and support, including pneumatic, hydraulic, structural, electrical, and propulsion systems operations.
- Minimum 3 years C-17 platform experience preferred
- Ability to read, interprets and understand C-17 blueprints and USAF Technical Orders.
- Prefer multi-system operations, maintenance and repair experience including pneumatic, hydraulic, structural, electrical, and propulsion systems
- Ability to work safely within complicated schedules and establish criteria and work procedures to achieve a high level of quality, productivity, or service
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Using fall protection, confined space training
REQUIRED EDUCATION Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 4 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate+2 years' related work, Bachelor, etc.).
WORK HOURS FULL TIME/FIRST & SECOND SHIFT; This is for a 2 shift operation (1st and 2nd shift). Personnel will be assigned to a shift based on type of experience and need. ADDITIONAL Applicants responding to this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements by currently possessing the ability to view classified government information.
**BENEFITS OFFERED:
This role is supporting a contract that is governed by SCA. Occupation Code and Title: 23022/Aircraft Mechanic II. Minimum Hourly Rate= $47.78/hr. Additional Pay=$5.09 Health & Welfare Benefit (paid for all straight time hours worked up to 40 hours per week)
VACATION: 2 weeks paid vacation after 1 year of service; 3 weeks paid vacation after 5 years of service; 4 weeks paid vacation after 15 years of service
HOLIDAY PAY: 11 paid holidays per year. New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr.'s Birthday, Washington's Birthday, Memorial Day, Juneteenth National Independence Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans' Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
ACCRUAL OF SICK LEAVE HOURS: 1 hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked-up to 56 hours of paid sick leave each year.Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
