Chipton-Ross is seeking an Environmental Engineer 2 for a contract opportunity in Melbourne, FL.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
oThe ability to communicate and work effectively with others is essential. oBe able to solve complex problems by actively seeking new ideas and quickly mastering unfamiliar situations. oUnderstanding of primary environmental laws and regulations, such as the Clean Water Act, is often required. oExperience in areas like incident investigations, job hazard analysis, and EHS training may be neededPOSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Looking for an environmental engineer to develop, administer and implement environmental programs in accordance with governmental requirements. Monitors pollution prevention activities, compliance and auditing efforts. Conducts studies and prepares environmental impact reports for new construction projects, plant processes and permit changes. Reviews and analyzes environmental documentation issued by the federal EPA, state and local regulatory agencies. Determines impact on company operations and publishes compliance strategies and requirements. Evaluates proposed regulations to determine financial, industrial, public and environmental impact. Interacts with federal, state and local regulators to resolve compliance issues; establishes permit requirements and assists in EPA, state and local regulatory audits. Represents company in government and industry rule-making activities. Responsibilities for Environmental Engineer 2:
oReview and interpret federal, state, and local regulations to determine their impact on operations. oDevelop, implement, and maintain EHS programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and mitigate risk. oConduct compliance audits, inspections, and risk assessments, including industrial hygiene and ergonomic evaluations. oManage hazardous and radioactive waste, including contract management with disposal firms. oProvide regulatory requirements and recommendations for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) during project and tool design reviews. oCreate and update Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs). oPrepare environmental reports for new projects, processes, and permit changes. oAssist with accident and incident investigations to determine root causes and corrective actions.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
oFamiliarity with specific state and federal environmental regulations and agencies is preferred, such as those in New York (NYSDEC, NYSDOH) or the EPA. oExperience in a variety of environmental compliance programs is highly desirable, including those related to the Clean Air Act (CAA), Clean Water Act (CWA), and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA). oExperience in conducting environmental training and developing online training materials is beneficial.REQUIRED EDUCATION:
High school diploma or equivalent is required. School must be accredited.WORK HOURS:
9/80 work week. 1st shift. 8AM-5PM.ADDITIONAL:

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
