Chipton-Ross is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for a contract opportunity in Calumet, IL.



BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Troubleshoots electrical equipment, PLC's, DCS and other controls
  • Repairs Pumps, Valves, and other Process Equipment with minimal supervision.
  • Assists with RCA’s and other incidents investigations
  • Supports SAP management of spare parts, work orders, and other reports
  • Supports plant EHS programs, PSM programs and other client initiatives

    • POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follows all plant policies and practices to ensure safety, quality, service, and cost objectives are met.
  • Practice continuous quality improvement in all processes.
  • Fully supports our client's goal of zero work place safety incidents and supports and participates in client's EHS Programs.
  • Knowledgeable of and practices root cause analysis·
  • Knowledgeable of and practices Preventive and Predictive Maintenance
  • Be a project team member and lead some small projects or sub-projects of a larger project.
  • Practice safe work habits in accordance with OSHA and EPA guidelines.
  • Repair and maintain equipment and assets in a safe and efficient manner.
    • Work with production/operations and have knowledge of client products and equipment.
  • Understanding maintenance processes, applications, and terminology related to manufacturing. Daily use of hand and power tools.
  • Must safely repair electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, plumbing, mechanical, and HVAC systems.
  • Basic welding, millwrighting, and blueprint and schematic reading.· Work cooperatively with all employees, vendors, and contractors.
  • Assists in maintaining an acceptable level of housekeeping.
  • Completes all required paperwork accurately.
  • Performs various troubleshooting and preventative maintenance duties to equipment as needed.
    • •Work in other areas as needed.
  • Tracking performance against goals including - uptime, downtime, mean tie to failure etc.

    • REQUIRED EDUCATION:

  • Accredited HSD/GED

  • Full-Time
  • 1st Shift


    • Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
