Chipton-Ross is seeking a Staff Systems Administrator 3 for a contract opportunity in one of the following locations: Huntsville, AL or Roy, UT.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
- Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of relevant experience; OR Master's degree with 10+ years of relevant experience; OR PhD with 8+ years of relevant experience; 16+ years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Expertise in Windows, VMWare, Horizon VDI, Enterprise Implementation, Migration, and Maintenance.
- Expert in PKI (Certificate Authority) design and implementation
- Expert in infrastructure architecture and design
- Expertise in Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) compliance and IA accreditation. Experience operating under and managing systems within NISPOM Chapter 8, DCID 6/3-ICD 503, RMF, (STIG), JAFAN, or JSIG information system environments
- Must have a DOD 8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification. Security+ CE, CySA+, CCNA security, GSEC, SSCP, or higher-level security certification; certification must be maintained as a condition of continued employment.
- Network design and implementation experience with Cisco and HP switching and firewalls.
- Storage Area Network (SAN) and Network Attached Storage (NAS) design and implementation experience
- Experience with cryptological devices (KG-175, KIV-7, KGR-42) technologies.
- The ability to be granted special program access (SAP/SAR) within 1 year of hire date.
- Must be eligible to obtain a TS Clearance within a reasonable timeframe following hire.
- Windows Domain architecture experience.
- Experiences in scripting and Automation (Ansible)
- Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Work after hours and weekends as needed.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform as Staff Systems Administrator for a medium-to-large-sized government contract.
- Lead Team as a Subject Matter Expert in the areas of: Windows, VMWare, Horizon VDI, Enterprise Implementation, Migration, and Maintenance.
- Communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, with internal and external customers, in written and oral format.
- Maintain smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network, software, and system engineers, PC desktop technicians, project managers, end users, and customer and IT management.
- Support multiple networks; ensure necessary administration tasks are completed.
- Work closely with System Engineering and other team members to develop recommended system improvements, upgrades, and solutions.
- Develop and recommend and implement system enhancements to improve performance and reliability of systems, including installing, upgrading/patching, monitoring, problem resolution, and configuration management.
- Administer backup and recovery services; manage file systems and disk space; manage virus protection on a routine basis.
- Create and maintain user and computer accounts and modify file permissions and security access lists.
- Test new releases of products to ensure compatibility and minimize user impact.
- Develop and document technical processes and procedures as needed.
- Make recommendations to purchase hardware, software, and system components.
- Interact, meet, discuss, and troubleshoot issues with team members, suppliers, customers, and vendors.
- Lead Team with your expertise in Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) compliance and IA accreditation.
- Maintain security audit and logging information on all networked and standalone computers in a classified environment as directed by the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM).
- Develop security documentation for input to Computer Security.
- Report project status as required for all recurring and non-recurring efforts.
- Provide end of day and end of week task status to management.
- Obtain and analyze internal and external customer requirements, recommend equipment and software as needed, and oversee system implementation and accreditation.
- Navigate complex system configurations and implement enhancements that will improve the performance, reliability, and security of the system including installing, upgrading/patching, monitoring, problem resolution, and configuration management.
- Develop and document technical processes and procedures as needed.
- Ensure necessary administration tasks are completed, and direct others as necessary.
- Analyze internal or external customer requirements and determine equipment and software requirements for solutions to problems by means of automated systems.
- Recommend and implement system enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the system including installing, upgrading/patching, monitoring, problem resolution, and configuration management.
- Provide backup and recovery services; manage file systems and disk space; manage virus protection on a routine basis
- Make recommendations on how to purchase hardware, software, and system components.
- Adhere to strict Information Systems security guidelines in all cases
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- Current active TS security clearance at time of application.
- VSAN design and implementation experience
- Knowledge in Linux/Unix administration
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
High School diploma is required. School must be accredited.WORK HOURS:
5/40 work week. 1st shift.
