Description

Chipton-Ross is seeking a Software Engineer-Embedded (Level 2) for a contract opportunity in Pleasanton, CA.



BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Good understanding of software test processes
  • Experience developing and debugging software using C and scripting languages, such as python.
  • Experience with embedded software and hardware
  • Understanding of embedded software testing
  • Understanding of test automation
  • Excellent writing skills

    • POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Designing/developing/integrating software use case tests for verifying hardware/software
  • Implementing test plans and schedules for all phases of software lifecycle
  • Support development of requirements-based test plans
  • Creating and tracking software defects and validating resolution through the entire release cycle
  • Good understanding of software development flows and processes
  • Write clearly, concisely and accurately, tailoring the tone and language to the target audience

    • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience developing embedded software for ARM processors
  • Familiarity with computer/information security principles
  • Experience with memory mapped peripherals and bus alignment issues

    • REQUIRED EDUCATION:

    Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor's with 2 or more years' experience, or Master's with 1 or more years’ experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

    WORK HOURS FULL TIME/FIRST SHIFT; 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM

    Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
