Chipton-Ross is seeking 3 General Mechanics for a contract opportunity in San Antonio, TX.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
- Position requires 4+ years of experience in those duties as previously described for satisfactory performance.
- Ability to work variable shifts (i.e. scheduled and unscheduled overtime; weekends and holidays) to support mission requirements and
workload- Regular and predictable attendance is a requirement of this request.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain, repair and modify aircraft structures and structural components
- Maintain and repair aircraft components, flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical
components- Utilize airframe and power plant systems to determine equipment malfunctions to restore equipment condition and operation
- Interpret technical documentation, blueprints and manufacturer manuals
- Perform close tolerance drilling, reaming, removal, and installation to critical support structures and fracture critical areas
- Locate blind holes necessary for installation of new structural items to existing structure
- Perform efforts associated with sealing, painting, shimming, and preserving structure in accordance with standard repair
processes- Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical orders, process specification, and retrofit requirements to perform
structural modification/repair- Use tooling assemblies and fixtures for depot level modification and repair of structural parts
- Ascend and descend vertical work ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift loads of approximately 35lbs
- Ensure working environment is deemed safe for access and job task performance via Hazardous Energy and Lock Out /Tag
systems applications- Experience in a technical or mechanical field performing work with basic hand tools.
- Experience working various aircraft exterior and interior systems including hydraulic, flight control, monuments, landing gears, fuel systems,
and engines- Experience working in aircraft repair, modification and tooling operations and processes
- Assist team members (General Mechanics, Avionics, Electrics) to ensure cost/schedule targets are met
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- Experience with C-17 aircraft
- Experience in aircraft heavy maintenance
- Ability to operate a forklift and riding type electric powered elevating equipment
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- The candidate must be able to ascend and descend vertical work ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift loads of approximately 35 pounds.
- Exposure to noise, working on elevated platforms
- Use personal protective gear for face, eyes, ears, hand, and arms as required.
- Pass visual acuity and color perception tests
- Read, write, and comprehend the English language
- Handle, use, and dispose of hazardous material
- Obtain & maintain training certifications as required to support assignment responsibilities
- Occasional (1 to 3 hrs) finger manipulation
- On occasion, a 2-person lift may be necessary for weights greater than 50 lbs
- Frequent reaching overhead (3 to 6 hrs)
- Frequent walking on flat surfaces
- Frequent standing flat or uneven surfaces
- Frequent balancing on a ladder, steps, or uneven surfaces
- Occasional climbing on 3-12 ft ladders or stands
- Rotation of head/neck, sitting, crawling, squatting, bend/stoop, lying down, and operate foot controls for an extended period of time
- Occasional contact with metals
- Frequent exposure to noise
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Accredited High School Diploma or Equivalent.WORK HOURS:
MUST BE OPEN TO WORKING 1st, 2nd or 3rd SHIFT.PER CLIENT:

*This role is supporting a contract that is governed by SCA. Occupation Code and Title: 23022/Aircraft Mechanic II. Minimum Hourly Rate= $43.05/hr
**BENEFITS OFFERED:
Additional Pay=$5.09 Health & Welfare Benefit (paid for all straight time hours worked up to 40 hours per week)
VACATION: 2 weeks paid vacation after 1 year of service; 3 weeks paid vacation after 5 years of service; 4 weeks paid vacation after 15 years of service
HOLIDAY PAY: 11 paid holidays per year. New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr.'s Birthday, Washington's Birthday, Memorial Day, Juneteenth National Independence Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans' Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
ACCRUAL OF SICK LEAVE HOURS: 1 hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked-up to 56 hours of paid sick leave each year.Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
