Chipton-Ross is seeking a Structural & Payload Design Engineer 3 for a contract opportunity in Long Beach, CA.



100% onsite

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

o Bachelor's Degree or higher in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Civil Engineering. o 5+ years' experience in aircraft structure, materials and properties, design criteria and release processes. o 5+ years' experience with aircraft primary structures such as design, strength, fatigue.

Design Engineers to become part of the Structures Organizations in (Long Beach, CA). At the Southern California Design Center in Long Beach, we keep the world connected. We make the world a smaller place by bringing families, friends and loved ones together. Whether that is helping people fly with our work on Client's incredible fleet of aircrafts or keeping them connected virtually with our work on satellites. Our team gives the opportunity to experience many facets of the Client Company in one place.

Our Structures organization supporting Client is seeking experienced Structural Design Engineers with knowledge of design theory, engineering principles, and coordination skills.

This role may require some travel to support our customers and provide learning experiences to enhance your career.

o Develops, integrates and documents structural and interior payload system requirements to establish the system design. o Develops, maintains and modifies structural and interior payload system and component designs, using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle. o Develops new design/analysis processes and tools to improve the effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort. o Investigates emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements. o Works under general direction.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

o 9 or more years' experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. o 14 or more years' experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. o Experience with engineering tools such as CATIA, ENOVIA, and PDM. o Experience with structural design principles for aircraft primary structures (e.g., fatigue, damage tolerance, corrosion, stress analysis, statics, materials strength, material characteristics, and repair techniques). o Experience in Airplane Design, Stress Analysis, Liaison Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering strongly preferred. o Experience with Client 7-Series Aircraft Primary Structures. o Strong written, verbal communications and presentation skills.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

WORK HOURS:

Full-Time/First Shift 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Possible OT opportunities.


Employment will be contingent on clearing a background check. Must clear prior to start date.
