Chipton-Ross is seeking a Design Engineer for a contract opportunity in Marietta, GA.



BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Candidate must be able to coordinate efforts with progressively less supervision across a wide range of functional organizations, such as Planning, Tooling, Stress, Materials & Processes (M&P), Reliability and Maintainability (R&M), Materiel, Flight Sciences, Test, Manufacturing, and other Design Product Focus Teams (PFTs) to ensure that designs meet customer and derived requirements.
  • 9 years minimum Aircraft Design/Test/Support experience
  • Experience in CAD Systems: CATIA V5 and CCD
  • C-130, C-5, P-3, and/or S-3 experience --Production •Line support experience
  • Familiarity with mod design,
  • POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Employee will drive design solutions with little direction. Coordinates with wiring/avionics and VSS design inputs during the design process. Must coordinate with mfg as necessary to ensure the design is producible and meets manufacturability reqmts.
  • Responsible for holding periodic design reviews and coordinating updates as the design matures. Responsible for the dwg coordination and signoff
  • making sure that the design meets cost, schedule and performance.
  • Responsible for development of layouts, preparation of engineering drawings, and coordination of activities with affected organizations,
  • This position requires engineers to use their knowledge of configuration management, drafting/drawing conventions, and aerospace specifications and procedures to develop design solutions to meet all customer requirements.
  • The issues encountered can be related to any facet of a program from design development, fabrication, assembly, flight test, and in service, as well as post-delivery modifications.
  • Engineers in this position are expected to work with only minimal direct supervision and drive design solutions with input from the IPT.
  • Support of manufacturing operations and customers in resolving technical problems related to the aircraft structure and systems.

    REQUIRED EDUCATION:

  • Accredited Bachelor's Degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering

  • 4/10 work schedule
  • 1st Shift


  • Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
