Description
Chipton-Ross is seeking a Machinist for a contract opportunity in Torrance, CA.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

A•bility to review blueprints and drawings to determine set-up procedures, machining sequence, and dimensions. Select fixtures, part holders, and tooling to machine parts to specifications.
  • Familiarity with lathes, mills, drill presses, surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, centerless grinders, gear hobs, broaching machines, gun drills, tube hones, horizontal hones, and vertical hones.
  • Ability to monitor tools and attachments to ensure parts are properly cooled and lubricated.
  • Knowledge of feeds, speeds, and surface finishes related to blueprint requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and geometric tolerances.
  • Basic mathematic skills include but are not limited to adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, geometry and algebra for calculating material fabrication.
  • Must be capable of using calipers and basic measuring tools.
  • Full compliance with the Company's DOT Antidrug and Alcohol Misuse Prevention Program.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.

    • POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Machinists use a variety of conventional and CNC metalworking machines for the manufacturing of helicopters and helicopter parts in accordance with manufacturing procedures approved by the FAA.

    • REQUIRED EDUCATION:

  • Accredited HSD/GED


    • WORK HOURS:

  • Full-Time
  • This work assignment has been designated as "safety-sensitive" by the Client. Contractors assigned to safety-sensitive jobs at the Client site must first complete regulatory pre-placement requirements prior to reporting to assignment. Additionally, contractors assigned to safety-sensitive work will be subject to random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with federal mandates.


    • Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
