Chipton-Ross is seeking a Material Handler 3 for a contract opportunity in Northridge, CA.



BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

o High school diploma/GED and at least 4 years of experience in logistics support, shipping/receiving, manufacturing shop floor, warehousing, and/or inventory control. o Ability to obtain a forklift certification. o Proficient use of Microsoft Excel, including the ability to sort, filter and navigate through data, insert conditional formatting, common formulas to conduct necessary analysis of inventory. o U.S. Citizenship is required. o Active Clearance.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Looking for a Material Handler who loads, unloads, and conveys materials within or near plant, yard, or work site, and performs a combination of tasks under specific direction which may include shipping and/or receiving. Opens containers using hand tools; counts and weighs materials and records information. Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, conveyors, and machines by hand; loads or unloads materials into or from trucks by hand. Conveys materials using wheelbarrow, hand truck, forklift, electric dolly, elevator, or other devices; stacks or assembles materials; aids machine operators by lifting heavy objects by hand or by use of power hoist. Roles and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
o Research status of material critical to production schedule and expedite into stock o Manages chemicals from start to finish, including streamlining process upon delivery, proper labeling, safety paperwork document storage, placement into correct location on production floor, and updating systematically in Excel, Costpoint system and shared file o Identifies, red-tags, records, and dispose of expired material o Ensures adequate supply of consumable material on hand by monitoring current inventory levels and expiration dates o Interfaces with various supply chain and engineering teams (procurement, subcontracts, material program management, production control, quality, mission assurance, etc.) to direct appropriate movement of material o Conducts cost and metrics analysis on an as-needed basis o Material metrics: tracks and categorizes topics that occur within the programs, in addition to conducting time studies. o Creates Status Report for material control organization, including main bulletin board, space for recurring items, and special projects. o Collects weekly status from staff and consolidate into main report. o Develops or update functional or operational manuals outlining established methods of performing work in accordance with organizational policy. o Provides support to the logistics function preparing logistics documentation to establish the range and depth of spares, material, test equipment and related manuals to be deployed and stocked. o Determines maintenance and repair materials required for deployment. o Develops requisitions for and manages records of material, components, repair parts and related manuals. o Tracks logistics materials and parts for proper allocation of storage facilities. o Documents equipment, component and parts conditions; and identifies logistic support documentation to be included such as drawings, technical manuals, and maintenance requirement cards to support life cycle of product. o Provides logistic assistance to floor personnel daily o Determines course of action to maintain proper inventory levels of Ground Support Equipment's and etc. o Reviews production schedule and coordinate logistics support to ensure on time delivery of various equipment to the floor o Inventories all locations of program material, update data base on Costpoint. o Sorts and sustains all cabinets, racks, shelves and maintain records o Facilitates and maintains inventory and rotation of Shelf-Life Material o through calibration cycles insuring In CAL equipment is available when required o Coordinates transportation of material between various sites and locations o Evaluates existing processes and make recommendations on improvements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

o Active DoD Secret Clearance. o Knowledge of Cognos, CostPoint, and advanced Excel formulas (index match, offset, indirect, etc.). o Prior experience using a forklift/reach lift/pallet jack. o Prior experience using Costpoint/MES. o Previous forklift experience. o Hazmat or chemical handling experience. o NGC manufacturing shop floor experience. o Ability to work overtime as needed to support the business.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

o Ability to lift 25 lbs. and walk or stand for extended periods of time.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

High School Diploma or equivalent. School must be accredited.

WORK HOURS:

9/80 workweek. 0n-site.
