Chipton-Ross is seeking a Design and Analysis Engineer 5 for a hybrid (onsite/remote) opportunity in Long Beach, CA.



Hybrid - 2 days a week on site

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

o Regular and predictable attendance is required. o Accredited Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, aerodynamics, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science. o 10+ years of full-time aerospace experience in aircraft, avionics, flight controls, propulsion/engine controls and/or other aircraft electronics. o Experience with Agile and Continuous Delivery Method (CDM) processes. o Experience leading systems/software development programs.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Client is currently looking for a part-time senior Avionics Systems Engineer to join our team in Long Beach, CA applying Engineering knowledge/principles, tools, and techniques to a continuing series of upgrades and improvements to the C-17 Globemaster III aircraft.

o As a senior Avionics Systems Engineer, the selected candidate will rapidly integrate into the team and apply an interdisciplinary approach to the analysis, design, development, system level test/verification and validation of the C-17 Flight Management System (FMS) and other Avionics Systems. In addition, the candidate will apply job principles, theories, and concepts to develop new capability for the C-17. o The primary subject matter for this role will be the Flight Management System, which is responsible for Flight Planning/navigation, guidance, control, display, and automation of aircraft. A successful candidate in this position requires having an excellent technical and communication skills while being aware of the business constraints.

Work statement is a non-managerial role, non-leadership role.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

o Have one of the following: Military/Commercial Aircrew experience, Private Pilot License, or Flight Instructor certification. o Capable of leading geographically diverse teams to perform activities that support C-17 upgrades, improvements and sustainment.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree with 14 or more years' experience, Master's degree with 12 or more years' experience or PhD with 9 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.

WORK HOURS:

Part-Time/First Shift 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM HYB


Employment will be contingent on clearing a background check. Must clear prior to start date.
