Chipton-Ross is seeking multiple Outside Machinists for a contract opportunity in Pascagoula, MS.



BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Requires a minimum of 4 or more years of experience as an outside machinist
  • POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Installs, aligns, and repairs ship machinery such as propelling machinery, auxiliary motors, pumps, ventilating equipment, steering gear, laundry and galley equipment, working from blueprints and using hand tools, calipers and micrometers. lays out passage holes on bulkheads, decks, and other surfaces for connection such as shafting and steam lines.
  • Align reduction gears, bearing, shafting, propellers, and rudder and steering engine assemblies.
  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Prior Shipyard experience a minimum of 4 or more years of experience as an outside machinist.
  • REQUIRED EDUCATION:

    Accredited High School diploma or equivalent.

    WORK HOURS:

    Full-Time 1st, 2nd, 3rd shift.

    ADDITIONAL:

    Additional hourly PD is 18.38 for those that live over 75 miles with valid utility bill. This new rate will require a minimum of 2 hours worked daily and is capped at 8 hours maximum per day. There is NO differentiation for Premium or No Premium.



    Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
