Chipton-Ross is seeking 4 Manufacturing Engineers (Level 3) for a contract opportunity in Tukwila, WA.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
The primary focus of this position is to lead, manage and support flight test design & planning efforts. Manufacturing Engineers are owners of the build plan and ensure compliance to design configuration and process requirements, Manufacturing Engineering performs Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) analysis and develops an integrated build plan consisting of work instructions for assembly/fabrication, kitting, tooling, inspection requirements, and other outputs to endure fabrication meets design, test, and program requirements. Duties may include (but are not limited to):
- Participates in program Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to integrate technical solutions across multiple disciplines.
- Leads and works with Test Project Management, Design Engineering, and Program IE to develop and maintain integrated build plans.
- Develops, implements and maintains various manufacturing plans, Bill of Materials, work instructions and illustrations to define and document as-built configuration.
- Coordinates with fabrication personnel and lead coordination with procurement/supplier management personnel.
- Works across groups to coordinate and track part status and shipping with supplier management and MMO.
- Develops and documents BT&E ME process and tools for Flight test programs, new job practices, techniques and standards.
- Prepares build analyses and cost estimate reports.
- Leads integration of complex suppliers, processes, materials, data and technology to meet manufacturing and delivery requirements.
- Leads teams performing producibility assessments of design concepts.
- Manages the program work statement making sure it meets cost and schedule requirements.
- Leads development of complex work statements and sequencing of events to support delivery commitments.
- Helps develop schedule to align with integrated build plan, program needs, and fabrication capabilities.
- Drafts, updates and reviews processes and procedures to support business requirements.
- Works under minimal direction.
- Leads the creation of training material and tutorials for Design & Planning ME team.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.WORK HOURS:
FULL TIME/FIRST SHIFT; 6:00 AM - 2:30 PMEmployment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
