Electrical Engineer 3

Chipton-Ross is seeking an Electrical Engineer 3 for a contract opportunity Sunnyvale, CA.

• Experience with 2D and 3D EMFEA of generators, motors, or rotating electrical machines.
• Experience reviewing electromagnetic models for technical quality and reproducibility.
• Familiarity with model setup, meshing, solver controls, and comparison to test data.
• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical, or Physics Degree with 8+ years.
• Peer review comments and findings.
• Clarification questions for the analysis team.
• Recommendations for corrections or improvements.
• Summary assessment of model and report readiness.

The contractor will review the EMFEA model, results, and report to confirm technical accuracy, consistency with the approved modeling approach.

Tasks

• Confirm the final model is consistent with the approved approach.
• Identify and assess any deviations from the approved approach, including documentation and justification.
• Review model setup.

ogeometry/configuration against drawings.

• material definitions, including B-H curves.
• winding and excitation definitions.
• boundary conditions.
• motion setup.
• mesh controls and mesh adequacy.
• solver settings, including time stepping.

Review results to confirm:

• 3D results are appropriately compared with 2D and test results.
• all required operating points were evaluated.
• reported results align to the correct run cases.
• plots and tables are traceable to source runs.
• conclusions are supported by the analysis.
• Review the report for clarity, completeness, and reproducibility.
• Provide clarification questions, review comments, and recommendations.

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical, or Physics is required.

School must be accredited.

Part-time.
