Chipton-Ross is seeking multiple Engineering Technician 3's for a contract opportunity in Chandler, AZ.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE)

  • High school diploma or equivalent and 4 years of additional education and/or related experience.
  • Ability to obtain a US DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to multi?task and process information from multiple sources and tools.
  • Responsive, motivated, and reliable in task completion and follow?up.
  • Ability to track schedule and budget of assignments at a basic level.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Looking for an Engineering Technician - Level 3 to join the Mechanical Engineering team within Launch Vehicles at the Chandler, AZ facility.

The Engineering Aide supports Engineers by processing engineering data, tracking schedules and hardware, and generating clear status reports. This role reduces administrative burden on engineers and improves visibility into schedule, labor, and deliverable status across multiple tools (Teamcenter, Excel, IMS, Jira, etc.).

Essential Functions:

  • Retrieve and process engineering analyses and drawings in Teamcenter and related systems; assist REs in identifying/tagging IPT reviewers.
  • Support hardware tracking, including procurement status and integration planning.
  • Assist with the procurement process, including coordination with buyers/vendors and tracking purchase status.
  • Pull and organize labor/actuals data from Excel and other program files.
  • Look up and report IMS/schedule tasks, dates, and dependencies; support task scheduling/processing and basic schedule tracking.
  • Update and track Jira tasks to align with program milestones (Scrum/Agile environment).
  • Look up and track SDRL/DID requirements and status; follow up with REs on upcoming and overdue submissions.
  • Create concise status lists, reports, and charts from multiple data sources for reviews and management updates.
  • Process expenses and support basic budget and assignment tracking.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support engineering and program execution.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE)

  • Associate's degree in Business, Engineering Technology, Project Management, or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • Exposure to Lean/Agile engineering environments (Scrum, Jira, etc.).
  • Past experience supporting engineering or technical programs (aerospace/defense preferred).
  • Familiarity with PLM software (Teamcenter) and exposure to engineering analyses and drawings.
  • Experience working with hardware (tracking, integration support, coordination with procurement and vendors).
  • Experience managing schedules with tools such as MS Project or other IMS tools.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, data processing, basic automation or back?end programming a plus)

REQUIRED EDUCATION

High School Diploma/GED is required.

School must be accredited.

WORK HOURS

9/80 workweek. This position will serve on-site in Chandler, AZ.
