Production Expeditor III

Chipton-Ross is seeking a Production Expeditor III for a direct opportunity in Buena Park, CA.

Four or more years of progressive experience in production control, expediting, planning support, materials, inventory control, manufacturing coordination, or a related role.

Working knowledge of manufacturing work orders, routings, bills of material, inventory status, production schedules, and material movement.

Experience using an ERP, MRP, manufacturing execution, or production tracking system.

Basic to intermediate Microsoft Excel skills and the ability to maintain accurate electronic records and status reports.

Ability to read work order information, part numbers, quantities, due dates, operation sequences, drawings, and related production documentation.

Strong organization, urgency, attention to detail, communication, and follow-through.

Ability to work independently, manage changing priorities, and professionally follow up with employees at all organizational levels.

Demonstrated ability to coordinate complex or high-priority orders, drive recovery actions, and provide reliable completion projections with limited direction.

Ability to work onsite and spend substantial time walking through manufacturing, warehouse, receiving, and inspection areas.

Execute the priority order set by Planning: monitor priority work orders from release through completion and shipment, confirming current location, operation status, quantity, due date, and next required action.

Walk production areas throughout the day to obtain firsthand status, verify priorities are being worked in order, and identify stalled or at-risk work in die casting, CNC machining, finishing, inspection, assembly, and related operations.

Work from the published priority list, dispatch lists, shortage reports, and customer priorities to follow up on urgent, late, or schedule-critical orders.

Confirm that required material, tooling, fixtures, drawings, routers, programs, inspection documentation, and other prerequisites are available before scheduled work begins.

Identify shortages, quality holds, equipment downtime, missing documentation, labor or capacity constraints, and outside processing delays; communicate the issue promptly to the appropriate owner and to Planning.

Drive and track the recovery actions identified by

Planning and the team - following up with supervisors, buyers, Engineering, Quality, Receiving, and Shipping until the constraint is resolved or formally escalated.

Help move parts, paperwork, and priorities between work centers in accordance with material handling, traceability, quality, and safety requirements.

Support the timely movement of parts to and from outside processors by coordinating readiness, required documentation, delivery priorities, and status follow-up with Purchasing and Shipping.

Maintain accurate work order status, operation dates, quantities, notes, and related transactions in the ERP or production tracking system so the plan reflects true floor position.

Provide clear status updates during daily production, shortage, and scheduling meetings - current condition, obstacle, responsible owner, and expected completion date.

Verify completion of priority operations and communicate changes that affect downstream work, inspection, assembly, or customer shipment.

Assist with cycle counts, inventory research, work-in-process reconciliation, and location verification when needed to resolve production issues.

Maintain organized expediting records and follow applicable quality system, customer, export control, safety, and company requirements. Serve as a resource to less-experienced expeditors, and perform other related duties as assigned.

Experience in aerospace, defense, precision machining, die casting, metal products, or another regulated manufacturing environment.

Experience supporting CNC machining, metal casting, finishing, inspection, assembly, or outside processing operations.

Familiarity with aerospace traceability, quality holds, first article requirements, nonconforming material controls, and customer delivery priorities.

Experience with shortage management, schedule recovery, inventory transactions, or shop floor dispatching.
