Job #220152Chipton-Ross is seeking a Software Quality Assurance Engineer for a contract opportunity in Cape Canaveral, FL.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Looking for a motivated Software QA Engineer. The selected engineer will be involved in all phases of the software quality assurance engineering process, including but not limited to:
- Designing, executing, and documenting functional, integration, and regression testing.
- Building and maintaining automated testing tools and frameworks.
- Writing and validating user story acceptance criteria to ensure each feature meets its intended purpose.
- Documenting test findings clearly and concisely for stakeholders.
- Debugging and troubleshooting software issues across platforms.
- Applying continuous improvement methodology to refine test processes, tooling, and overall product quality.
In this collaborative role you will work with developers, systems engineers, and stakeholders to deliver high quality, reliable custom applications for internal and external partners.
- Test Strategy & Planning – Define test automation frameworks, test plans, and test cases aligned with program requirements and industry standards.
- Test Execution & Reporting – Perform functional, integration, regression, system, and performance testing; log defects, track root cause analysis, and verify fixes; generate clear test reports and metrics.
- Automation & Tooling – Develop and maintain automated test suites and CI/CD pipelines; evaluate, configure, and support test tools.
- User Story Acceptance – Write precise acceptance criteria for user stories; validate that delivered software meets those criteria before sign off.
- Documentation – Produce thorough, traceable documentation of test cases, execution results, and defect investigations.
- Debug & Troubleshoot – Diagnose software failures, reproduce issues in test environments, and collaborate with developers to resolve defects.
- Continuous Improvement – Identify gaps in test coverage or process inefficiencies and propose enhancements; mentor junior QA staff and assist with onboarding.
- Collaboration & Communication – Partner with developers, hardware engineers, and mission planners; participate in design reviews, sprint ceremonies, and risk assessments; provide early stage QA input.
REQUIRED EDUCATION
Accredited Bachelor's Degree with 6-10 YRS or Accredited Master's Degree with 4-8 YRS experience.
WORK HOURS
Full-Time; 5/40-1st Shift.
